Currently, Gypsy Fly has been performing tracks from Silver or Lead at various venues to promote the album. These venues have ranged from the infamous Double Door in Chicago to the “Operation Support the Troops: Freedom Bash 2011” in the Chicagoland suburbs. A live album recorded during their show at John Barleycorn is soon to be released. With two music teachers comprising the band, Gypsy Fly’s melodic edginess is balanced with disciplined precision, and they have performed with this signature sound at classic Chicago venues, including the Double Door, Metro, and House of Blues. While on Vans Warped Tour, Gypsy Fly performed at larger local venues, such as the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre in Tinley Park, Illinois and Marcus Amphitheater in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The band’s music has been played on 101.1 WKQX-FM, Chicago (“Q101”); the late 94.7 WZZN-FM, Chicago (“The Zone”); the “Waddle & Silvy” show on 1000 WMVP-AM, Chicago (“ESPN 1000”); and FearlessRadio.com, Chicago’s Internet radio station, where they have also played live on the “New Music Binge” show. Many of these radio stations have honored Gypsy Fly’s music in a number of contests and “local band of the week” designations, in addition to the band receiving an honorable mention for their original song from the Annual Billboard World Songwriting Contest. Gypsy Fly’s latest album, Silver or Lead – along with their three previously released albums, Breathing Air, Labeled, and Pink Lavender – is available for digital download on a variety of sites, including iTunes, Rhapsody, Sony’s CONNECT™, and Yahoo! Music. Besides audio performances, Gypsy Fly has also released recent and past music videos produced by members of the Fox Chicago News staff, and one video even debuted on JBTV, a Chicago music television show.
